Matthew Miles was given the jail term by the Court of Appeal in London last week for a burglary carried out in Peterborough in February.

He had initially been given a two-year conditional discharge at Peterborough Crown Court for the offence, but that was overturned at the latest hearing.

Miles, 33, of Welland Road, Dogsthorpe, was given until midday last Wednesday (July 20) to hand himself in, but failed to do so.

He has more than 120 previous convictions including 15 burglaries.

Following a police appeal for witnesses police arrested Miles in Peterborough on Thursday afternoon (28th July).
