Market Deeping: Body Found In Field

A body has been found in a field near Northfield Road in Market Deeping, near Peterborough.

A dog walker reported the discovery to the police at 10.40am this morning (24th September). Officers attended the scene and cordoned off the area.

Police are appealing for information from members of the public, especially dog walkers who use the local area and who have seen anything that may help them with their investigation.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 120 of 24th September 2013.

Lincolnshire Police have now confirmed that the body found in the field is that of a woman.

The force continues to treat the death as unexplained.

Police say a Post Mortem examination has been carried out, and enquiries to identify the woman are continuing.

A spokesperson added: "Officers are appealing for anyone who has any information to get in touch with them as soon as possible."
