The family of a woman found dead in Peterborough last week say they are "shocked, confused and devastated" following her death.
The body of 64 year old Elisabeth Carroll [pictured - right] was found at her home in King's Road in Fletton last Thursday (24th May).
Her family have released the following tribute to her: "Elisabeth was a kind and caring woman who was loved by all of her family.
She was a very gentle lady who was content spending her time at home and in her garden.
We are all shocked, confused and devastated by Elisabeth's death and ask to be given privacy in order to come to terms with our loss."
59 year old Michael Carroll, from the same address, has been charged with her murder.
He is currently being held in custody and is due to appear at Cambridge Crown Court in August.
