Peterborough Healthcare Changes

19 May 2011, 13:35 | Updated: 19 May 2011, 13:49

A public consultation has started into possible healthcare changes in Peterborough.

The proposals include the possible closure of some GP surgeries.

It's all because NHS Peterborough needs to save around £6 million during the next five years.

Surgeries at Alma Road and Burghley Road and the Orton Medical Centre could all be closed as part of the plans.

A public consultation into the proposals has started and runs until the 18th August 2011.

Public meetings about the proposals will take place at the following times and locations:

  • Gladstone Park Community Centre, Bourges Boulevard, from 6pm to 7.30pm on May 25
  • St John’s Church School, in Riseholme, Orton Goldhay, from 6pm to 7.30pm on May 26
  • Parnwell Primary School, in Saltersgate, Parnwell, from 6pm to 7.30pm on June 6
  • Hampton Vale Primary School, in West Lake Avenue, Hampton Vale, from 6pm to 7.30pm on June 7.

Two public meetings will be also held at Peterborough Town Hall from 2pm to 4pm and from 6.30pm to 8pm on June 30th.
