Peterborough: Man Dies After Late Night Collision

Police are appealing for the public's help to try to trace a vehicle after a fatal collision in Peterborough.

The collision happened on the junction with Broadway and Princes Gate, just before 11pm on Good Friday night (29th March) and involved two cars.

The driver of a red Suzuki Swift, Omar Mirza, 37, Ferndale Way, Dogsthorpe suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The other vehicle, a Renault Megane - which is thought to have had two occupants, failed to stop at the scene.

The road was closed for around 8 hours at Park Crescent and Hutley Grove.

The police helicopter was also called in to search the area.

Sgt Lyndon Pickston told Heart: "We are carrying out enquiries to locate this vehicle and the occupants.
