Over the last week many people haven't been able to get through to the switchboard at Peterborough's new City Hospital after its brand new phone system failed.

Rowena Barnes, Chief Operating Officer said, “The Trust has been experiencing a technical fault with the switchboard telephone system for almost a week now. This is resulting in some calls being left unanswered or dropping out of the queue completely.

“We would like to ask all patients and visitors who are having trouble contacting the Trust on the main switchboard number to redial the information line on 0800 917 8562.

“We recognise how frustrating this situation is for our patients and visitors and apologise for any inconvenience or distress this has caused.'

Heart has been told that the hospital have people 'working around the clock ' to diagnose the fault and resolve the issue as soon as possible.
