A 3.2 magnitude earthquake has been felt in Stamford
It was also felt in the Oakham area of Rutland after being triggered at a depth of 2.5 miles at 6.07am.
The British Geological Survey tweeted: ``We can confirm there has been an earthquake in the Rutland area.''
It said its seismologists are still analysing all the data.
Elizabeth Macintosh, who lives in Oakham, near Stamford, told Heart earlier, "I was literally about to get out of bed and I felt what felt like a truck going into the house.
"It felt like a massive bang and a terrible rumble.
"I thought it was a lorry going into the house.
"I've lived in the area for a few years now and it's not unheard of.
"It was quite scary for the dogs though, they were barking like mad."
