Stanground: Robbery - CCTV Released

Police have released images of a man they want to trace in connection with a robbery and an attempted robbery in Stanground.

Shortly after 8.30pm on 1st September, a man entered First Stop in South Street brandishing a knife. He threatened a member of staff who was mopping the floor. The victim hit the would-be robber with the mop and he ran off.

At about 8.45pm on the same evening, a man threatened staff with a knife in Stanground News, in Ayres Drive.

He demanded money from the till and then ran off.

Detective Constable Liam Sweeney, investigating, said: "These were nasty incidents and I would urge anyone with information to come forward.

"We are keen to trace the man pictured in the CCTV image as we believe he may have vital information to assist our investigation."
