Volunteer to Fight Fires in Crowland.

You can find out how to join Lincolnshire Fire Service as an on-call firefighter at a special event in Crowland this afternoon.

It's all happening from 12 noon till 4pm, with information on the recruitment process and what kind of training is needed before you can be signed up to deal with everything from road crashes to major incidents.

Station Manager at Crowland Jason Lawley told Heart, "The on call firefighters and Crowland community fire station are responsible for the crewing of one fire appliance and one co-responder car and we are currently looking to recruit new firefighters to ensure crews are available 24 hours a day to protect and respond to incidents in the communities in the area."

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue also work with employers in the area to encourage them to support their staff in joining the service. They say there are benefits in having an on-call firefighter as a member of staff including the training that's given. A few examples being team working, risk assessments and first aid.
