Wisbech Fires "May Be Linked"

Police say they're now looking at ALL recent fires in Wisbech after ANOTHER building was torched over the weekend.

There have now been 4 serious incidents in the town in recent weeks. The Phoenix Hotel and Chinese restaurant on North Brink, as well as Constantine House in Nene Quay were both destroyed by flames and on Friday, the derelict Flowerpot Pub on Elm Road was left gutted.

It's emerged a 11 and 12 year-old have been arrested over the pub fire. Both have been released on bail.

It comes as Emergency teams were called to an address in North Brink at 10pm on Saturday. Nearby homes were evacuated as the annex to a house was found to be well alight. Crews from Lincolnshire and Norfolk had to be called in to help stop it spreading. No one was hurt.

It's the 2nd fire at that address and although the first was initially thought to be accidental, detectives say they are keeping an open mind.

Police are asking people to think back to anyone seen acting strangely on Chapel Road, which runs down the back of North Brink, and say they want everyone to come forward if they were parked in the Chapel Street car park between 9.30pm and 10.15 on Saturday night so they can be ruled out of the investigation.
