Heart's Feel Good Weekend with Dev Griffin 12pm - 4pm
As part of National Family Week 2010, families are being encouraged to get off the couch and onto the playing field to discover the fun and benefits of sport.
The Family Week Sports Day aims to provide families with the opportunity to learn about and enjoy playing sports together and Plymouth City Council’s Sport Development Unit are treating families in their community to a sports day extravaganza that will be free to all, making for a cheap, healthy and fun family outing.
This is a fantastic opportunity to try out a number of sports and discover a new hobby to put your family on track for a healthy future. And if that’s not enough, families will also have the opportunity to take part in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest three-legged race across multiple venues!
Jane Nethersole, Operations Director for National Family Week commented; “We are thrilled that Plymouth City Council agreed to host one of the flagship Family Week Sports Days. This will be a fantastic opportunity for families in the South West to be able to try their hand at a whole range of sports and hopefully lead to continued interest for the whole family.”
Families can expect to take part in a wide range of free activities from inflatable human table football, a two-part obstacle course, a climbing wall, bouncy castles, skateboarding ramps, gladiator jousts, various sporting taster sessions, face painting, den building, live music plus various competitions and prizes to be won to name a few!
The Guinness World Record will start promptly at 3pm so we are requesting anyone who would like to take part be there no later than 2.30pm to register.
