Man Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
Detectives from the major crime investigation team have arrested a man following the death of Michael Brincat in Plymouth.
The 52 year old man from the Devonport area was arrested on suspicion of murder. He is now in police custody where he is being interviewed by detectives.
Detective Superintendent Paul Burgan leading the investigation said: “While this is a significant development in the investigation I want to be clear that there are still a number of lines of enquiry to be completed and this investigation is very much ongoing.
“I would still like to appeal to local people to come forward if they have any information, no matter how insignificant they think it might be.”
76 year old Mr Brincat was found dead on the floor of a flat in Marlborough House on Granby Way, Devonport last Wednesday, the 6th February, shortly after midday.
Police are still appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, no matter how small or insignificant they think it is, should either speak to a local officer or call 101 and quote ED/13/718, alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
