A motorcyclist has been detained by police following a collision with a six-year-old girl.
Police were called to the incident near Marine Drive, in Edinburgh, at around 5pm yesterday.
A spokesman said: "Police Scotland was called to an incident in Silverknowes, near to Marine Drive, at around 5pm on Wednesday after a motorcyclist collided with a six-year-old girl.
"The girl sustained minor injuries and a 19-year-old man has been traced and detained.
"Inquiries are ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.''
Elsewhere, an 81-year-old woman has been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle collision on the A9, close to Dalwhinnie in the Highlands.
The woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with a chest and a foot injury, which police said were not life threatening.
