Man Dies In Accident Near Station
A man has died after a road collision outside a train station.
He was hit by a car on Waverley Bridge in Edinburgh at around 5pm today.
The accident happened near the pedestrian ramp to Waverley Station, a Police Scotland spokeswoman said.
The bridge was closed while accident investigations were carried out.
Police said the 76-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sergeant Neil Inglis said: "This was a tragic incident where a man has sadly lost his life and I am appealing for any witnesses who were on Waverley Bridge around 5pm tonight to contact Police Scotland on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.''
