Man In Court On Murder Charge

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of another man in his home.

The body of Gerald McGough, 56, was discovered in a property in Watson Street, Motherwell, at around 8.30pm on Saturday.

Police launched an investigation and David Lander was arrested in connection with the death yesterday.

The 53-year-old, from Motherwell, was charged with murder at Hamilton Sheriff Court today. He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody ahead of another court appearance later this month.
