Police in Edinburgh have issued an e-fit of a man they want to interview in connection with the rape of a 19-year-old woman in The Meadows at around 7am last Saturday morning.
Detective Chief Inspector Alwyn Bell, who is leading the investigation, said: "We believe this is a very good likeness of the man we wish to trace. He is described as being between 20 and 30, 5'4" to 5'9" in height, of medium build and wearing a black beanie hat, dark trousers and black zip-up tracksuit top.
"This was a dreadful experience for the victim. It is essential we trace this man as soon as possible. I am appealing for anyone who recognises the description or e-fit picture of the man to call Police Scotland on 101 or provide the information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 as soon as possible."
