WATCH: Armed Men Raid Argyll Arcade

A gang of masked men have tried to raid the Argyll Arcade in Glasgow city centre.

They targeted a number of upmarket jewellery stores in the shopping mall this afternoon.

Video's emerged of the running from the arcade with smoke billowing behind them - understood to be from a security smoke alarm activated as they tried to smash windows with hammers.

Witnesses say the gang threatened to kill members of the public if they didn't move. Paul Gray was there and told us: "These four men then shouted at the passersby to get out of the way as they skidded down an alleyway (beside the arcade)."
