Somerset parents urge others to foster

A couple from Somerset who have fostered 13 kids are backing the local council's new campaign to get more fostercarers across the county.

Help turn a child's life around , develop a career in child care and earn about £400 a week - that's the message from Somerset County Council in the drive to recruit people for a new skilled foster care scheme.

The County Council is looking for people with experience of child care, a spare room in their home to help give a child a more positive future.

Councillor Frances Nicholson Cabinet Member for Children and Families said:

'Foster carers who are committed, parents, skilled and enthusiastic to complete training and join the new scheme are exactly the people who need to make a real difference to children who struggle.'

Angela and Clinton from Bridgewater have been foster parents for the last 4 years. Heart spoke to them about what it's like being foster parents.
