Tour of Britain Route
We know the exact route of this September's Tour of Britain cycle race...and Somerset's heavily involved.
Last year almost a quarter of a million people watched the race as it spent two days in our county and in neighbouring Devon, bringing an estimated £5.8 million to the local economy. Millions also followed it on tv and through the media. Once again, Somerset will have two days of racing in mid September. The route's as follows..
Tuesday 14 September Minehead to Teignmouth...passing through Wheddon Cross, Roadwater, Bilbrook, Blue Anchor, Watchet, Huish Champflower, Wiveliscombe and Wellington
Wednesday 15 September Tavistock to Glastonbury...passing through Staple Fitzpaine, Ilminster, Curry Rivel, Langport, Somerton and Butleigh
