11-year-old Hit by Motorbike

An 11-year-old boy remains in a serious condition in hospital after being knocked over by a motorbike.

Hampshire Police are appealing for information following a collision in Havant in which an 11-year-old boy was seriously injured.

It happened at around 4.20pm on Friday (Sept 3, 2010) when a motorcycle travelling south on Southleigh Road collided with the young pedestrian.

The injured boy, who is from the Havant area, was taken by South Central Ambulance to Queen Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

He was later transferred to Southampton General Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The scene was closed for three-and-a-half hours while police carried out a full investigation into the incident.

Witnesses are asked to call Acting Sergeant Chris Powling at Fratton Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting Operation Zinnia.
