Detective Constable Naomi Mellish said:

“This is a very nasty crime against a young boy. Thankfully his injuries were not serious but he has been left very shaken and the offenders have shown that they were prepared to use violence to get what they wanted.

“The bike that was stolen during this incident was very distinctive. I would like to hear from anybody who has information about the incident or who thinks they may have seen the bike following the crime.”

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact DC Naomi Mellish at Lyndhurst CID on 101. Alternatively you can call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
