A3 Collision Driver Dies In Hospital

A woman injured in a single-vehicle collision on the A3 near Buriton on Friday, August 3 has died.

Gillian Jane Baker, 25, from Second Avenue, Farlington, Portsmouth was driving a blue Fiat Seicento northbound when she lost control of the vehicle and collided with the nearside barrier.

The incident happened at 11.35am between the Queen Elizabeth Country Park and Buriton slip road. 

Miss Baker sustained life threatening injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital where she died in the early hours of Monday morning. (Aug 13th)

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who saw the car just prior to it.
