Attempted Knifepoint Robbery

Police are appealing for information about an attempted robbery on a woman in Portsmouth.

The victim, 46, was walking on Twyford Avenue around 6pm, December 26 when she was approached by two men.

She told police that one grabbed her around her neck from behind holding a metal bar and the other threatened her with a knife.

She fell to the floor to protect herself and two unknown men came to help her.

The offenders ran off towards Kingston Crescent. They are described as white and aged in their late 20s to early 30s.

DC Les Leithes from Portsmouth CID said: 

“The victim was uninjured and nothing was taken but she has been very shaken-up by this attempted robbery.

“I’d like to hear from the two men who came to her help who may have seen, or can recognise, the offenders.”
