Hampshire Police are investigating after a body was found on a beach in Southsea.
Officers were called out at about 7.15 this morning (Wednesday 29 January) after the body of an unidentified man was discovered by a dog walker.
An area of the seafront by South Parade Pier has been sealed off while a forensic investigation takes place.
Police say it is too early to say if the death is suspicious.
They are asking anyone who might know him or who has any information to call Detective Sergeant Gary Cable at Fratton Police Station on 101. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
