Police are warning people about a new scam doing the rounds on the South Coast.
Police have received six reports in the past week of scam letters being sent to people around the Chandler’s Ford area.
The letter says that a man with the same surname as you has died. It then says this man has no next of kin and as you share the last name you are entitled to a sum of £21 million. The letter is written from a woman in China who says you must keep the details confidential and urges you to contact her.
If you or anyone you know has received a letter similar to this the advice is do not respond to it but contact police on 101.
