Police have released CCTV of a couple they're looking for, who might have seen a serious assault outside a nightclub in Southampton.
The couple, a blonde woman in short shorts or a short skirt and the man with her, are being asked to come forward. They were seen leaving Junk at the time the victim was punched and could have vital information for the police.
Shortly after midnight on the morning of Friday 30 August, a 19-year-old Locks Heath man was punched to the ground near the rear entrance of Junk Nightclub at the corner of Winchester and Salisbury Streets, Southampton. The victim was treated at Southampton
General Hospital, where it was discovered he suffered a bleed on the brain.
It is believed the offender then became involved in a larger fight with several other people. Detectives want to locate a group of Asian men who were in the area at the time and may have been approached by the offender and his friends.
Police are appealing for contact from anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault. Detective Constable Abigail Leeson said:
"There were many people in the street at the time of the incident, watching what was going on. If this was you, please come forward."
Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Leeson at Shirley CID on 101 or to ring the anonymous Crimestoppers charity line on 0800 555 111.
