Man Charged Over Southampton Sex Attack

Detectives investigating a sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl near Southampton Common have charged a man.
The girl and a friend were walking home along Lovers Walk at about 11.40pm on Tuesday, August 20 when they went their separate ways.
The victim reached the point where the path splits into a "Y", and a man approached and sexually assaulted her.
Nathan Daniel Jones, 31, from Howard Road in Southampton has now been charged with sexual assault on the girl.
He was further arrested on August 30 having previously been released on police bail two days earlier.
Nathan Jones attended Southampton Central police station and requested to speak to detectives. He appeared before Southampton Magistrates on Saturday, August 31 and was remanded in custody to next appear at Southampton Crown Court on Tuesday, September 24.
