Investigation Reopened Into Alleged Abuse At Children's Home
A police investigation into alleged abuse at a former children's home in Hampshire has been reopened following claims from former residents.
Winton House in Winchester operated as a residential home for boys who were placed there by the local authority or by order of the courts in the 1970s and 1980s.
At this time there are eight alleged victims, all male.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson, said:
"As with any allegation of this nature, there are a number of officers involved in the investigation which is being managed by the force's major investigation team.
"In circumstances like there are a great many challenges, mostly for the alleged victims who are asked to recall horrific events from their past. This can take time and repetition in order to achieve the best evidence to bring about a prosecution but our aim throughout is to bring victims of abuse the justice they deserve."
