Man Attacked In Sandown

Appeal for witnesses following assault in Sandown.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in Sandown on Tuesday, October 1.
At about 10.00pm, the victim, a man in his 60s, was approached by a group of people as he walked along St Johns Road (between Station Avenue and Leed Street).
For no apparent reason one of the men from the group hit the victim on his head, then proceeded to punch him repeatedly when the victim objected. He was left with a lump on his forehead.
The suspect is described as a white man, aged between 20 to 30 years, stocky build and had dark short, possibly shaven hair.
