A driver accused of killing a paramedic and an elderly patient in a crash in the New Forest has denied two counts of causing death by careless driving.

Richard Husband, who's 26 and from New Forest Drive in Brockenhurst, will stand trial in June.

The incident involving a South Central Ambulance Service vehicle and a blue Seat Alhambra happened on the A337 road from Brockenhurst to Lyndhurst on Friday April 26.

A Hampshire Police spokesman said: "The driver of the ambulance, Gillian Randall, 42, and the patient, 88-year-old Francis Ironside, travelling in the rear of the ambulance, died at the scene.

"A male crew member and a male relative of the patient, both travelling in the back of the ambulance, sustained serious injuries.''
