Man Critical After Being Hit By Coach

A 20-year-old man's been left with life-threatening injures after being hit by a single decker coach near Eastleigh.

It happened at about 00:30 on Sunday December 2nd in Fair Oak Road, Bishopstoke.

At the time of the collision, the silver Mercedes mini-coach was travelling towards the Sandy Lane crossroads near the junction with Alan Drayton Way.

The pedestrian, a 20-year-old Fair Oak youth, received life threatening injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.

He had surgery to repair serious injuries to his side and pelvis. He remains in hospital.

Neither the coach passengers nor the driver, a 59-year-old Fareham man, were injured.

Fair Oak Road was closed for about four and a half hours for a police investigation.

The Roads Policing Unit wants to hear from any witnesses who have not spoken to police already.
