Man Followed And Robbed At Knifepoint

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed at knifepoint by a man in a car who had followed him for some way.

The 18-year-old from Bristol was spending the weekend with his parents and had driven down with a friend. They stopped at McDonald’s in Toll Bar Way, Hedge End and used the Drive Thru facility at just gone half past nine in the evening on Friday, November 18.
As they leave the car park a vehicle followed them to Kings Copse Avenue in Hedge End where the victim was dropped off by Tesco’s. The car that was following them also pulled in but the victim thought nothing of it as he assumed they were just using thesame shop and he withdrew some money from the cash machines and headed towards Cranbourne Park on foot. Just past Kings Copse School in Kings Copse Road the car that had been following him pulled in and a man got out and approached him and started pushing himand demanding his valuables.
He then pulled out a Stanley style knife and holds it up close to his throat and the victim hands over £90. The robber then tries to steal his rucksack and during a slight struggle he slashes out with the knife making a long cut down the victim’s t-shirt.
The robber then ran off without the bag and the victim went to his parent’s house and the police were called the next day.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the actual robbery or the car that followed him. Anyone with any information about the robbery is asked to call Eastleigh CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
