Man Hurt In Road Rage Attack

Police in Winchester are appealing for witnesses following a road rage incident that happened at the roundabout of junction 9 of the M3 with the exit for the A34, close to the traffic lights.

At about 3.55pm on Wednesday, March 31 two vehicles were involved in the road rage incident where a 37-year-old man got out of his white van to protest to another man in a green BMW about his driving.

This resulted in the driver and a passenger from the BMW getting out and punching the victim from the white van a number of times in the head. The suspects then left in the BMW in a northbound direction on the M3. The victim received head injuries, which were treated in hospital. The BMW was green, possibly a 3 or a 5 series and was registered on an ‘R’ plate.

The suspects are described as two Asian men, one dressed all in black and of a small build.

PC Matthew Smith said: “There were a large number of people in the area at the time, particularly in vehicles on the roundabout and we are urging anyone who witnessed this assault to come forward and provide further details on the suspects and the vehicle the drove.”

Anyone with information should contact Winchester police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
