Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Parked Lorry

A man’s died after driving his motorbike into a parked lorry just off the A3 at Petersfield.

It happened at about 3.30pm on Sunday (3rd October) on the northbound carriageway.

One lane of the A3 and the lay-by were closed for seven hours as police conducted an examination of the scene and recovered the motorcycle.

Derry Wilkinson, 39, died in the accident , the film producer, from south west London, and founder of the Sticky Moon production company, was riding a BMW motorcycle.

Senior Investigating Officer, Sgt Wayne Voller from Fratton Roads Policing Unit, said:

 "We have yet to establish how  the motorcyclist came to be travelling at such high speed in the lay-by and I would ask anyone who saw the collision, or who has any relevant information, to get in touch.”
