Hampshire police look set to move into their new headquarters in Winchester in 2013.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the force said:
Hampshire Constabulary has finalised negotiations with Hampshire County Council to purchase Mottisfont Court as its new headquarters.
The purchase of Mottisfont Court, for £1.5m, was completed on November 19th, following exchange of contracts on Friday, November 9th.
The purchase is the first significant acquisition of the force's Estate Development Programme (EDP), which aims to provide modern and appropriate facilities to fit the current and future policing needs, while providing the best possible service to the public and achieving value for money.
The refurbishment of Mottisfont Court is due to start in 2013 and should be completed and ready for occupation by up to 200 HQ staff by the end of 2013.
