Police Hunt Man After Indecent Assault

Detectives in Portsmouth are releasing an e-fit of a man whom it is believed may have indecently assaulted a teenage girl in Cosham.

Just after 6pm on Sunday, October 10, the victim was walking towards Cosham train station via the subway under Portsbridge roundabout.

A man followed her into the underpass, caught up with her, grabbed her by the arm and indecently assaulted her.

She struggled free and made her way to the train station where she noticed a man she believed to be the offender standing at the station entrance where the CCTV image was taken.

The offender is described as:

Asian man
17-18-years-old
Short in height
Skinny build
Short, black curly hair
Prominent nose
Slightly yellow teeth
Wearing a coffee coloured T-shirt

Detective Sergeant Huggett from Portsmouth CID said:

“Clearly the victim was very shaken by what’s happened to her but this does appear to be an isolated incident.

“Now we have the CCTV image, we’re making an appeal for anyone who recognises the man or anyone who may have seen a man matching the description of our offender around Cosham that Sunday evening.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Portsmouth CID at Fratton police station on 101 or 0845 045 45 45 from outside Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. You can also call the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
