Police Investigate Suspected Explosives In Southampton

A man's been arrested after bomb squad officers were called to a building in the Bitterne area of Southampton.
Police say they discovered some material which they thought was explosive when they searched for a suspect in an outbuilding at Bitterne Triangle at about 11.30am on Wednesday, December 4.
Officers called a bomb disposal unit in to deal with the material.
A police spokesperson said "The incident is isolated and involved no risk to the public".
A 28-year-old Southampton man was arrested on suspicion of making an explosive substance.
Subsequently, the arrested man was detained under the Mental Health Act for 28 days.
Police are continuing to investigate.
