Portsmouth South MP Mike Hancock will not face charges into allegations of sexual assault.
Hampshire Police had asked to see the report written by Nigel Pascoe QC for Portsmouth City Council. After reading it and looking at information from a previous police investigation in 2010, has decided not to take any action against the Liberal Democrat MP.
The report was written for a committee investigating whether Mike Hancock had broken the council’s code of conduct in his dealings with a 'vulnerable woman'. Cllr Hancock had strongly denied the allegations.
The Liberal Democrat MP was arrested in 2010 on suspicion of sexual assault, but was not charged with any offence.
