Scooter Theft Leaves Couple Housebound
Police at Hythe are appealing for help in tracing a stolen mobility scooter which is vital to the life of an elderly couple.
The red scooter with a rear basket and mirror on the handlebars was taken from the garage of a home in Butts Ash Lane, Hythe, between noon and 7pm Monday 12 February.
The scooter owner is a 97-year-old man who looks after his housebound elderly wife. Loss of the vehicle means he cannot leave the house to shop or run other errands.
Police are appealing for any sightings of the scooter. It may have been abandoned because the charger was not taken. They also want to hear from anyone who saw the scooter being taken from the garage via an up and over door between noon and 7pm Monday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Jackie Conners at Hythe on 101.
