Three Arrested In Care Home Investigation

Police have confirmed that they arrested three people on Wednesday, November 14th during an investigation into concerns for the welfare of a resident at the Pear Tree Lodge care home on Hayling Island.

They were three women, aged 55, 31 and 25, from Hampshire.

The women were questioned on suspicion of wilful neglect and conspiracy to make false reports. All three were later released on police bail until February 27, 2013 pending further enquiries.

Hampshire police say they're working closely with Hampshire County Council to keep families and staff at the care home informed about the situation, provide reassurance and ensure their welfare while enquiries are continuing.
