Totton Attempted Armed Robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man tried to rob a shop in Totton at gunpoint.

The man, who's described as 6ft tall and slim, walked into McColls convenience store at Longstock Crescent at around 7.50pm on Sunday, October 21 and waited behind a customer to be served. When he got to the front of the counter he revealed what appeared to be a small handgun to the member of staff and demanded cash.

The shop worker though refused to hand anything over saying they couldn’t access it and the man then ran off and rode away on what is described as a dirty old white mountain bike along Ringwood Road.

He was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap, a black jacket and blue hoodie. He also wore a dark scarf with white specks on it wrapped around his lower face.

Officers are now appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the man before of after the incident to contact them. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call PC Dean Miller at Lyndhurst CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
