Hampshire Police are trying to piece together more information after a woman was racially abused outside her own home.
Police at Southampton are seeking witnesses to a racially aggravated verbal incident in Janson Road, Shirley, on Monday, December 16.
At about 4.45pm, a 33-year-old woman was subjected to a tirade of racial abuse on the driveway of her home. The abuse followed a driving incident a few minutes earlier.
As the woman drove along Janson Road, from St James Road, her wing mirror touched the wing mirror of an oncoming vehicle. When the woman arrived at her home and got out of her car, she was confronted by the man who drove the other vehicle.
The tone of his comments was based on their different racial backgrounds.
The man drove a dark Volvo or BMW estate. He is described as white, in his mid to late forties, slim and 5ft 10ins tall with short dark hair. He wore a grey jumper and beige trousers.
PC Peter Cruden is seeking witnesses. He said:
"I want to speak to anyone who was driving in the area at the time who witnessed either the wing mirror contact or the incident between the man and woman at the Shirley Road end of Janson Road. They may be able to assist me with the investigation."
