Woman Stabbed In Portsmouth

Detectives in Portsmouth are appealing for information after officers were called to reports of a fight between two women.

One had to be treated for non-serious stab wounds and the other was arrested.

Police were alerted by the ambulance service just after 6pm, Thursday, October 21, and attended the Hilsea Lido car park.

A 30-year-old woman was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital for treatment to injuries to her leg and arm.

Officers arrested a 36-year-old woman at the scene. She was questioned on suspicion of blackmail and wounding with intent and bailed until December 21 pending further enquiries.

DC Ann Keir from Portsmouth CID said:

“We believe this was an isolated incident. It happened during daylight hours and at a location popular with cyclists, dog walkers and runners.

“To assist with our enquiries, I would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened.

“There was a man on crutches who helped in administering first aid to the woman who was injured. If he could contact the police, this would be extremely helpful.”

Anyone with information should contact DC Keir at Fratton police station on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
