A woman has been beaten up and robbed by two men in Portsmouth.
Hampshire Police say sometime between midnight and 1.00am on Saturday 1 March 2014, the victim, a 35-year-old woman, was walking along Commercial Road near Debenhams, when she was approached by a group of youths.
The woman was told to hand over her mobile phone and cash. When she refused she was assaulted and left dazed on the floor.
She sustained some minor injuries including bruising and scratches as a result of the attack.
The first attacker was described as:
A white man, aged in his mid teens, about 5ft 5ins tall, larger than average build for that age with short brownish coloured hair. He had a round face.
The second man who joined in the attack was described as:
A white man, aged in his late teens to early 20s, average build and height with short dark hair. He was wearing trainers and riding a dark framed mountain bike.
They were in the company of two girls who were in their mid teens.
The stolen items were Samsung Galaxy Ace Mobile phone, £30 in cash and a wallet.
Investigating officer, DC Sheena Ives said:
“This is an extremely rare incident in such an open location. It happened at a time when there would be many people still milling around from the various pubs, clubs and eating establishments that are nearby.
“I am asking for any witnesses who may have seen this to come forward, in particular for anyone who was approached by the victim after the incident who she may have asked for their help.“
