Devon Beach Sold To Highest Bidder
A Devon beach has been sold for £70,000 - more than twice the guide price
Bigbury Sands, which is opposite the famous Burgh Island, has been bought by recruitment executive Tony Willis who has a holiday home nearby.
There was a lot of interest in the strip of beach from as far away as Hong Kong.
But the sale, by a group of London financiers, hasn't gone down too well with the locals. The sign announcing the sale near Bigbury-on-Sea's car park was recently vandalised.
Chairman of the Parish Council Stuart Watts says they'll be doing all they can to stop any kind of development on the beach. He tells our reporter Wendy Buckingham what the buyer gets for his money. CLICK HERE
But Mr Willis says his children love the beach and he has no plans to change it.
