Pyramid Scheme Warning

Women in south Wales are being warned not to get involved in pyramid schemes.

It's after more than 10 thousand here and in England were caught up in one - losing thousands of pounds.

People were told they could get a £24,000 payout for putting £3,000 in to the Give and Take programme.

They were then encouraged to get their friends to do the same in the belief they would eventually be at the top of the pyramid and receive the cash.

In the majority of cases, they lost their money and didn't receive any winnings.

6 women have been convicted for running the Give and Take programme with the judge at Bristol Crown Court saying pyramid schemes can destroy whole communities.
