Update: Body Washed Up On Bawdsey Beach

A woman's body has been washed up on a Suffolk beach.
Police are continuing with enquiries following the discovery of a woman’s body at a beach this morning, Monday 22 July.
The body of an elderly woman was discovered by two members of the public at around 9.55am on the beach at Shingle Street, Bawdsey.
Emergency services attended, including the Air Ambulance but the woman was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
Enquiries are continuing to try to establish the woman’s identity and contact her next of kin.
A Post Mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the course of death.
As is standard procedure the woman’s death will be treated as unexplained, the matter has been referred to the Coroner but at this stage there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
