Police are appealing for information after a 10-year-old boy was sexually assaulted in Earsham Street in Bungay yesterday (Sunday).
The incident happened around 11.30am on Sunday 18 May. The boy was with his family – including mum and dad – and the group were talking to some family friends when a man approached the boy and put his hand under the 10-year-old’s bottom.
The boy told his parents and the 10-year-old’s dad went over to the man to confront him about what happened.
The offender – described as white, in his 50s, of chubby build, around 5ft 10ins tall, with short wavy, messy mousey greying hair, wearing a T-shirt, blue trousers/ jeans, a bright white cap and carrying a messenger-style bag – then claimed he had accidentally touched the boy, before walking away.
Police were informed of the incident a short time later and officers are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or anyone with information about the man involved.
