Bury St Edmunds Car Park Murder: Man Charged

A 56-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a woman in Bury St Edmunds.

Mary Roberts, aged 50 was found in a car park off Risbygate Street in Bury St Edmunds on Wednesday 27 March.

Andrew Ratcliffe of Wherstead Road in Ipswich was due to return on police bail on 4 June but was re-arrested yesterday morning, Wednesday 29 May on suspicion of murder.

He has subsequently been charged with murder and remanded in custody at the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre. He is due to appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates Court later today, Thursday 30 May.

A second man, a 59-year-old from the Bury St Edmunds area who was also arrested on suspicion of murder, remains on police bail and is due to return to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on 5th June 2013.
