Bury St Edmunds: Woman Died After Car Crash

A woman has died after a car crash in Bury St Edmunds during the early hours this morning (22nd July).

Emergency services were called at around 12:35am after the woman's silver Vauxhall Astra was seen leaving the road along Compiegne Way.

The male driver had an arm injury and was treated by the ambulance service. The 23 year old woman, who was a passenger, was found unconscious at the scene and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital where she later died.

There was no one else involved. The road was closed temporarily for investigations.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact the Bury St Edmunds Roads Policing Unit on 101.
